RadSite Accreditation Program

RadSite Accreditation Program logo

RadSite accreditation medical physicist services. RadSite accreditation support for advanced diagnostic imaging (CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, PET). Physics testing, quality control, and documentation for imaging facilities.

Requirements

  • Physics testing of each system by a qualified medical physicist (or an MR scientist for MRI)
  • The physicist's report and phantom images are uploaded with the application
  • Testing must be completed within 12 months of submission
  • Personnel qualifications, policies and sample clinical images reviewed through the online portal

Benefits

  • RadSite is one of the accrediting organizations CMS recognizes for CT, MRI, nuclear medicine and PET under MIPPA
  • One application can cover CT, MRI, PET and SPECT systems
  • RadSite does not mandate a specific phantom

Accreditation Process

  • Submit the online application
  • Portal review of personnel, policies, clinical images and phantom studies
  • Accreditation Committee decision

Maintenance Requirements

  • Accreditation is awarded for three years
  • RadSite audits accredited imaging suppliers during the accreditation period
  • Material changes must be reported to RadSite

What RadSite accredits

RadSite accredits CT, MRI, nuclear medicine and PET, dental and medical cone beam CT, and remote scanning, and it also lists an ultrasound program. RadSite is one of the CMS-recognized accrediting organizations for advanced diagnostic imaging (CT, MRI, nuclear medicine and PET). It is not an FDA-approved MQSA accreditation body for mammography.

What the physicist provides

The physicist's report and phantom images are uploaded with the application, and the testing must have been completed within 12 months of submission. RadSite does not require a specific phantom. Physics testing covers image quality and equipment performance for each system, plus dose measurements for the systems that use ionizing radiation.

How DRPS supports RadSite accreditation

DRPS medical physicists perform the physics testing, produce the report and phantom documentation, and help make sure the testing package is current when you apply. See our CT physics testing, MRI physics testing and PET/CT and nuclear medicine physics services.
