Caring for Patients Who Received Radioactive Therapy
Safety instruction for nurses and unit staff caring for patients who received radioactive therapy and cannot yet be released (10 CFR 35.310 and 35.410). English.
Course Description
Radiation safety instruction for nurses, nursing assistants and unit staff who care for patients treated with unsealed radiopharmaceuticals or brachytherapy who cannot yet be released. Covers the required topics of 10 CFR 35.310 and 35.410 — patient control, visitor control, contamination control, waste control and notification — plus room posting, emergencies, a patient death, and dislodged brachytherapy sources.
The course runs video, post-test, then certificate. The post-test unlocks after the full video has been watched and requires 80% to pass.
Required instruction must be given initially and at least annually; your facility adds its room procedures, contacts and records.
