Biography

Dr. Troy Zhou received his Ph.D. in Engineering from Dartmouth College. He completed a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship in radiation physics at the University of Pennsylvania, where he focused on advanced applications of medical imaging in radiation oncology. Following his fellowship, Dr. Zhou joined Siemens Healthineers as a Scientific Marketing Manager in Computed Tomography, supporting product development and clinical adoption strategies. From 2013 to 2019, he served as the Lead Imaging Physicist and Senior Director of Professional Services at Landauer Medical Physics, where he oversaw clinical operations, staff development, and regulatory compliance for imaging physics services nationwide. Between 2021 and 2025, Dr. Zhou held the position of Chief Physicist at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and served as Radiation Safety Officer for Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, leading imaging physics and radiation safety programs across a major academic medical center and affiliated clinics. Dr. Zhou is a board-certified medical physicist in both Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Nuclear Medicine Physics. He currently serves as Managing Partner and Principal Consultant at Diagnostic Radiation Physics Services, a firm he founded to deliver high-level medical physics and radiation protection services to healthcare systems across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. He is also an active leader in the medical physics community, serving as Chair of the AAPM Imaging Accreditation Subcommittee, and participating in several national committees, including Government and Regulatory Affairs, the Imaging Science Committee, and the Professional Imaging Physics Committee. His leadership in these areas reflects his ongoing commitment to advancing the profession and promoting quality, safety, and innovation in medical imaging.
